Spaces are designed by first understanding how a business operates day to day and what the environment needs to support. Careful listening and considered questioning shape a clear, practical plan that brings together layout, materials, lighting and atmosphere.

The result is a space that reflects the brand, works efficiently for the business, and creates a strong, lasting impression for customers—without unnecessary complexity or cost.

How we can work together

The design service can be fully bespoke to you and your business. It can be:

  • A light touch, onsite consultation where I give full creative input, styling advice, and any other guidance that gives you my full creative input.

  • A mid level service which includes my creative input and with further design documents such as a moodboard and a list of recommended fixutres, fittings and material finishes.

  • Fully involved service which includes a design consultation, full design documentation including technical drawings and details.

Exclusions will apply for each service.

Your Project Lead

Designer and Director: Shelley Matthews

I came to interior design through an unconventional route — and that is one of the most important things about me. Years of proving myself in professional environments, a master's degree, and a business started during a pandemic because it felt right. Every chapter gave me something I bring to this work.

I'm a gifted listener. I understand what it is you want to achieve in your business; I dig deeper into how your customers behave; I explore how they want to feel when they visit your premises.

A lifelong enthusiast for the creative arts; professional global career in marketing and strategic market growth in UK and Asia; passionate about Wales.

I have been responsible for large scale projects, international expansion, leading and managing global teams and developed team working skills on multiple levels. This was before my drive switched direction into interiors. A pandemic decision made with courage.

Grit and hard working character passed down from a family of builders and miners. Compassion and nurturing inherited from a lineage of carers and nurses.

Every project I take on gets my full attention. You're not handed off to a junior — you work with me, start to finish. You get all of my skills and creative talent.

    Design the experience.

 

Heaven is a unique cocktail bar and nightclub on Wind St, Swansea. Established in 2021 by Greg & Chris, known DJs and Ibiza lovers, they wanted to create something for partygoers and cocktail drinkers that they couldn’t get anywhere else. Typical successful business owners before opening the bar, they needed someone to handle all of the big time consuming decisions on the design and most importantly, to turn their vision into reality.

SA1 Interiors helped to create a design that was market-led, focussed on helping them acheive their business goals, and to design an environment that quickly became reputable for the experience.

We created the seating plan, the bar area which was bespoke made, lighting design and all decor. We created a design for the toilets that would encourage visitors to take photos creating a marketing opportunity.

We created a full specification list and coordinated some of the works through to completion. We also provided some graphics for the social media, as well as working with their other design teams to ensure all marketing materials were coherent with their bar design. Branding goes a lot further than a website!
